According to court documents Feltus Taylor was fired from his job at the Cajun’s Fabulous Fried Chicken in Baton Rouge and two weeks later would return. Taylor was let into the store and he lent a hand in cleaning up however he would leave and return with a gun where he demanded money and shot and killed Donna Ponsano

Convicted killer Feltus Taylor apologized Tuesday night before his execution in Louisiana for the murder of a woman during a 1991 Baton Rouge restaurant robbery.
Taylor, 39, was convicted of capital murder for the slaying of Donna Ponsano, 31, during the holdup March 17, 1991, at Cajun’s Fabulous Fried Chicken, where he had been hired and fired twice.
Keith Clark, the restaurant manager who was partially paralyzed in the shooting, was a witness at the execution along with Ponsano’s sister, Lisa Allen.
“I want to tell you, Keith, and the Ponsano family, that I’ve always regretted what I’ve doneit was always my own doing,” Taylor said before he was strapped to the gurney for the injection.
Warden Burl Cain slowly talked to Taylor until his eyes closed and his chest stopped moving.
After the execution, Clark and Ponsano said they felt that justice had been served.
“I saw a man go to heaven tonight, I do believe,” Clark said.
In September, Taylor was within hours of execution when the U.S. Supreme Court halted his execution but the reprieve was lifted in April. Taylor received five stays while he was on death row
Cain said Taylor left instructions to immediately remove his body from the state penitentiary for burial.
“I don’t think he wanted to spend another night at Angola,” the warden said
