Tyrese Haspil Murders Fahim Saleh In NYC

Tyrese Haspil is a killer who was convicted of killing his boss Fahim Saleh in New York City

According to court documents Tyrese Haspil worked for Fahim Saleh who was the CEO of Nigerian Transportation company Gokada as a executive assistant. However while he was employed Haspil was also ripping his boss off.

Fahim Saleh would catch Tyrese Haspil and give him a second chance however this was a decision he would regret when Haspil would murder Fahim to cover up his continued thefts

Fahim Saleh body would be found and an autopsy would later show that Saleh had been hit with a taser before he was stabbed repeatedly, dismembered and decapitated

Tyrese Haspil would be arrested, convicted and sentenced to life in prison

Tyrese Haspil Case

A former executive assistant who killed and dismembered his tech CEO boss in New York City after stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from him has been sentenced for the murder, authorities said.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said in a press release on Tuesday, Sept. 10, that Tyrese Haspil, 25, was sentenced to 40 years to life in state prison for the 2020 murder of 33-year-old Fahim Saleh.

“Today, Tyrese Haspil is facing accountability for brutally murdering and decapitating Fahim Saleh, a kind, generous, and empathetic person who positively impacted the world,” District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg Jr. said.

He added, “Even after the defendant stole from him to fund a lavish lifestyle, Mr. Saleh still gave him a second chance. While today’s sentence won’t bring Mr. Saleh back, I hope it provides his family a sense of closure as they continue to mourn his painful loss.”

Haspil’s sentencing comes a little over two months after he was found guilty by a New York State Supreme Court jury of first-degree murder and second-degree grand larceny among other charges in connection with the case.

On July 13, 2020, prosecutors said Haspil was seen on surveillance video entering Saleh’s apartment building in Lower Manhattan and following him into the elevator, which opened up into Saleh’s apartment. As Saleh got out of the elevator, Haspil tased him in the back and then stabbed him with a knife multiple times in the neck and torso, killing him

The next day, Hapsil returned to the apartment, where he “dismembered and decapitated Mr. Saleh’s body using the saw and placed the body parts in pre-ordered construction bags,” according to the release.

The grim discovery was made by Saleh’s cousin, who came to check on him since she had not heard from him in 24 hours, prosecutors said. She subsequently called the police.

Haspil, who prosecutors said left the apartment looking for a saw battery charger and did not return after spotting a police presence in the building, was arrested four days later at an Airbnb he had reserved to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday.

According to prosecutors, Haspil’s web history in the days after the murder showed searches for “dismembered body,” “Fahim Saleh,” and “murder of Tech CEO in New York.”

Prosecutors have said Haspil’s motive for killing Saleh was financial. Saleh, who was the founder and CEO of Gokada, a transportation company headquartered in Nigeria, learned that Haspil had stolen thousands of dollars from his financial accounts, which Haspil had access to since he began working as Saleh’s executive assistant in May 2018.

According to the district attorney’s office, Haspil set up a Paypal account and a corporate bank account to funnel Saleh’s money. He created bogus statements and used a name that resembled other financial transactions so Saleh would not become aware of the theft, prosecutors said.

“Haspil resigned in May 2019, knowing Mr. Saleh would learn about the embezzlement, yet continued to steal money [and] increasing the amounts,” prosecutors said. According to the district attorney’s office, Haspil paid Saleh back with stolen money through the PayPal scheme, but the theft continued, escalating to about $400,000.

In an attempt to hide the theft and prevent Saleh from potentially testifying against him in court, prosecutors said Haspil had plotted to kill Saleh on at least three occasions before carrying out the murder in July 2020.

Following his death, Saleh’s company released a statement, calling his passion for Nigeria and its young people “immeasurable.”

“He believed young Nigerians are extremely bright and talented individuals who would flourish if just given the right opportunity,” the statement read. “Fahim also believed that technology can transform lives and improve safety and efficiency. He built Gokada to act upon these beliefs.”

Assamad Nash Murders Christina Lee In NYC

Assamad Nash
Assamad Nash Christina Lee

Assamad Nash is a killer from New York City who would stalk and murder Christina Lee

According to court documents Christina Lee was returning home from a night out when Assamad Nash would follow the woman up six flights of stairs and forcing his way into her apartment

Christina Lee would struggle with Assamad Nash which caught her neighbors attention who would phone 911. When officers arrived at the apartment in Chinatown they could hear Christina scream however the apartment door was barricaded. By the time officers made their way into the home Christina was already dead from more than forty stab wounds

Assamad Nash was arrested at the scene and would later plead guilty to murder and burglary he would be sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for thirty years.

Assamad Nash Case

The man who admitted to brutally killing a woman he “mercilessly stalked” up six flights of stairs before quietly slipping into her Chinatown apartment was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years to life in state prison, the Manhattan district attorney said.

Assamad Nash pleaded guilty in June to murder and burglary as a sexually motivated felony in the Feb. 13, 2022 slaying of Christina Yuna Lee. Police said he stabbed her more than 40 times in the head, neck and torso.

The 35-year-old Lee was just getting home from a Saturday night out when she was dropped off at her building on Chrystie Street — and had no idea someone was following her.

The building’s landlord said that Nash “mercilessly stalked” his victim, and images obtained by NBC New York showed him following her up the stairs.

Prosecutors said that Lee was still alive when officers arrived in the building, as they could hear her cries and screams for help, but the door was barricaded.

Emergency Services Unit personnel knocked down a steel door, but Lee went silent as officers were still trying to get into the apartment. They found Lee’s body in her bathroom

Prosecutors say Nash tried to get out the fire escape but went back inside when he saw an officer on the roof. Cops found him under Lee’s bed, and took him into custody at the scene, with the murder weapon under a dresser.

“Christina Yuna Lee was killed in an unthinkably horrific manner in her own apartment at the hands of Assamad Nash,” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement after Nash’s sentencing Tuesday. “Ms. Yuna Lee was a creative, kind and joyful person and her death not only devastated her family but left a lasting impact on an entire community. “I hope the resolution of this case offers comfort and a sense of justice for everyone that has been touched by Ms. Yuna Lee’s life and this tragedy. May her legacy be celebrated for years to come.”

Last year, Lee’s family said they were suing New York City and the NYPD over alleged failure to intervene the night of her killing.

Her family claims they have received little information from the police department. For example, Boshun Lee, the victim’s aunt, says the family learned the woman had been stabbed 40 times from the media — not from police.

Lee’s family say prayers won’t bring them answers about the NYPD response that night — that’s why they’ve filed the lawsuit alleging negligence.

”We have not had access to the police report itself. But we are calling to account the police department in terms of its failure to protect Christina,” Charles Yoon, the family’s attorney, said.

Their lawsuit claims unnamed officers responded but did not enter Lee’s apartment until an hour after 911 calls from neighbors who reported hearing screaming.

“Whereas the police had ample opportunity to intervene, they did not,” Yoon said.

The complaint says, “The responding NYPD members denied and/or unreasonably delayed providing Ms. Lee with police assistance and emergency medical treatment causing her pain and suffering and contributing to her death.”

Spokespersons for NYC and the NYPD previously told NBC New York they don’t comment on pending litigation.

Officials familiar with the case said Nash had five prior felonies and three pending court cases on various matters prior to the Lee incident.

Robert Fisher Case

Rensselaer County resident Robert Fisher, age 34, of Rensselaer, pleaded guilty to murder and rape on Tuesday, July 9, in the death of Josefina Cunningham.

According to prosecutors, emergency crews were called to the girl’s Rensselaer home near Broadway and Tracy Street on July 7, 2023, after relatives found her not breathing.

Josefina’s mother found her lying lifeless on the floor, foaming at the mouth and drenched in bleach, the girl’s brother, Jay Quan Stewart, told NoTearsForBlackGirls.com.

She was later pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center.

Fisher was a trusted friend of the family and was babysitting the girl at the time, Stewart told the blog.

He was indicted three weeks later following an extensive investigation involving multiple agencies.

Police determined that he had raped the girl sometime between 8 p.m. on July 6 and 7:20 a.m. on July 7, and caused her death during the act, WRGB reports.

In court Tuesday, Fisher pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and first-degree rape.

A Rensselaer man has admitted to raping and killing a 3-year-old girl one year ago.

Robert Fisher, 34, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Rensselaer County Court to second-degree murder and rape.

Fisher caused the death of Josefina Cunningham at a home at 1552 Broadway on July 7, 2023. The girl was found unresponsive and her mother called 911. The girl was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Court documents obtained by NewsChannel 13 reveal that Fisher struck the girl and also describe the graphic sexual abuse. WNYT is choosing not to disclose all those details.

Fisher had been staying at the home. He was initially charged with obstructing the investigation after police said he tried to get back into the home.

Fisher initially was charged with aggravated sexual abuse, assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He was subsequently indicted on the murder and rape charges in late July 2023.

Robert Fisher Death

Robert Fisher, the man who drugged, raped and killed a 3-year-old girl last year in Rensselaer, died Tuesday at Elmira Correctional Facility, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Services.

Fisher died less than two months after a Rensselaer County judge sentenced him to 20 years to life in prison for the rape and slaying of Josefina Cunningham.

Fisher, 34, was pronounced dead at 1:50 a.m., according to DOCCS. A spokesman for the agency declined to discuss how Fisher died, referring instead to a DOCCS statement that the cause of death would be determined by the Chemung County Medical Examiner’s Office and it was up to that agency to decide whether to reveal it. Fisher had been in state prison since Sept. 23.

The child’s death on July 7, 2023, in her Rensselaer city home traumatized her family, friends, the community of Rensselaer and the police, firefighters and other first responders who answered the emergency call.

Fisher drugged the child with her mother’s medication, attacked her and tried to cover up what he had done, prosecutors said at his Sept. 10 sentencing. Fisher had befriended the child’s mother and, prosecutors said, the child was left in his care on the day she died.

During the sentencing, Rensselaer County Assistant District Attorney Antonia Edwards said Fisher used Clorox wipes to try to conceal his crimes, scrubbing the child’s face so hard he rubbed off the pigment

Edwards described the victim as “a loving and caring child. She had a smile that would light up a room. Her teachers said at day care she would pretend to be a teacher. She would line the baby dolls up and pretend to read to them and to feed them. She had very nurturing qualities. She was a girly girl.”

In July, Fisher pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and first-degree rape.

Judge Debra Young called Fisher “a threat to society. You show no remorse for what you did to Josie.”

The judge told Fisher he will “never be fit to live” in the community, adding he hoped any future parole board considering his release from prison would study the sentencing records and other court records and deem him unfit for release.

Asked if he wanted to address the court, Fisher muttered, “No.”

Fisher’s former defense attorney, Lucas G. Mihuta, could not be reached for comment Thursday. Chemung County Assistant District Attorney Anne H. Stark said the office was awaiting the findings of the medical examiner’s office to determine if prosecutors had any role to play. Officials in the medical examiner’s office could not be reached for comment.

Rensselaer Police Department investigated the 2023 murder. Chief Warren Famiglietti said his department had not been told Fisher died.

In a Facebook post, Famiglietti said commenters on social media were “expressing joy and relief from the news of his death.”

“Being careful not to express my personal beliefs on a professional platform, I will say that I would find it impossible to compose a rational, articulate argument in opposition of those expressing relief,” he said.

He went on to note the hard work of those involved in the investigation, before concluding, “It appears that justice was ultimately served by a power much greater. I hope that all people affected by this horrific crime can now begin the next step of the healing process.”

Nicholas Tartaglione Murders 4 In New York

Nicholas Tartaglione
Nicholas Tartaglione

Nicholas Tartaglione is a killer from New York State who was convicted of the murders of four people

According to court documents Nicholas Tartaglione at one time was a police officer in Westchester County in New York State before he retired and started his sexond career as a drug dealer

On April 11 2016 Nicholas Tartaglione would murder Martin Luna, 41, by strangulation and executing Urbano Santiago, 35; Miguel Luna, 25; and Hector Gutierrez all to further his drug dealing business

On top of the murders Nicholas Tartaglione would also be convicted of kidnapping and narcotics conspiracy.

Nicholas Tartaglione would be sentenced to four life sentences with no chance of parole

Of course Nicholas Tartaglione would receive a ton of attention while awaiting his court date as he was the cellmate of Jeffrey Epstein. Apparently two weeks before Epstein committed suicide he would tell his lawyer that the prior suicide attempt was not an attempt but injuries sustained during an altercation with Tartaglione

Nicholas Tartaglione Case

Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that NICHOLAS TARTAGLIONE was sentenced today to four consecutive life sentences for his leadership role in the 2016 murders of Martin Luna, Urbano Santiago, Miguel Luna, and Hector Gutierrez. TARTAGLIONE, who is a former police officer, orchestrated the kidnapping and murders of all four victims on April 11, 2016. TARTAGLIONE was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Kenneth M. Karas.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “Nicholas Tartaglione brutally and senselessly murdered Martin Luna over money, and then ruthlessly executed Urbano Santiago, Miguel Luna, and Hector Gutierrez simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. He tried to cover up his crimes by burying all four victims in a shallow grave on his property. Thanks to the tireless efforts of countless law enforcement officers at the federal, state, and local level, and the relentless pursuit of justice by the career prosecutors in my Office, Tartaglione has now been held accountable for his reprehensible crimes. Today’s sentence of four consecutive life terms justly reflects the pain and suffering each victim underwent at Tartaglione’s hands. I hope that this outcome brings some measure of closure to the victims’ families and to their community.”

According to the allegations contained in the Indictment, the evidence offered at trial, statements made in open court, and matters included in public filings:

On April 11, 2016, NICHOLAS TARTAGLIONE, a former police officer, orchestrated the kidnapping and murders of Martin Luna, Urbano Santiago, Miguel Luna, and Hector Gutierrez. Martin was 41 years old when he died. Urbano was Martin’s nephew by marriage and was 35 years old when he died. Miguel was Martin’s nephew and was 25 years old when he died. Hector was a close family friend of all three and was 43 years old when he died. All four victims left behind a loving family, and many of their family members attended the trial in this case.

Martin was killed because TARTAGLIONE believed Martin had stolen approximately $250,000 meant for the purchase of cocaine. TARTAGLIONE tortured Martin by restraining him and beating him for over an hour, but when Martin did not provide the location of the missing money, TARTAGLIONE strangled Martin to death with a zip-tie. Urbano, Miguel, and Hector were killed — each with a single gunshot to the back of the head, execution style — because they witnessed Martin’s murder and were in the wrong place at the wrong time. TARTAGLIONE buried all four victims in a mass grave on his remote property in Otisville, New York. The four victims remained in the ground until the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (“FBI”) Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force located the grave in December 2016.

At today’s sentencing, Judge Karas described TARTAGLIONE as a “monster” who has shown no remorse for his conduct.

  • * *

TARTAGLIONE, 56, of Otisville, New York, was found guilty of 11 counts of murder, four counts of kidnapping resulting in death, one count of kidnapping conspiracy, and one count of narcotics conspiracy.

Mr. Williams praised the outstanding investigative work of the FBI, the New York State Police, and the Village of Chester Police Department. Mr. Williams also thanked the City of Middletown Police Department and the Houston, Texas Police Department for their assistance in the case.

This prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (“OCDETF”) operation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles criminal organizations using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach. Additional information about the OCDETF program can be found at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF.

The case is being prosecuted by the Office’s White Plains Division. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Maurene Comey and Jacob R. Fiddelman, with the assistance of Paralegal Specialist Shannon Becker, are in charge of the prosecution.

Nicholas Tartaglione News

former suburban New York cop who turned drug dealer and orchestrated the executions of four men in 2016 was sentenced Monday to four back-to-back life sentences, federal prosecutors said.

Nicholas Tartaglione suspected a man of stealing from him in 2016 and lured him into a trap, after which he and others executed the man, as well as three family members or friends who happened to be with him, the U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan said.

“Nicholas Tartaglione brutally and senselessly murdered Martin Luna over money, and then ruthlessly executed Urbano Santiago, Miguel Luna, and Hector Gutierrez simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement.

A jury convicted Tartaglione, 56, in April 2023 on 11 counts of murder, four counts of kidnapping resulting in death, one count of kidnapping conspiracy and one count of narcotics conspiracy.

He had been a police officer in Briarcliff Manor, a village in Westchester County, around 20 miles north of New York City.

Tartaglione tortured Martin Luna, whom he had suspected of stealing $250,000, and then strangled him with a zip tie, prosecutors said.

He then took the three other men — Luna’s nephews, Urbano Santiago, and Miguel Luna, and family friend Hector Gutierrez — to some woods and forced them to kneel, Williams has said. They all were then shot in the back of the head.

Those three men just happened to be with Martin Luna when the kidnapping occurred.

They were killed “because they witnessed Martin’s murder and were in the wrong place at the wrong time,” prosecutors wrote in a sentencing letter, in which they called Tartaglione’s offenses “monstrous.”

The bodies of all four men were buried on Tartaglione’s property in Otisville in upstate New York, officials said. An FBI task force found the bodies in December 2021.

Tartaglione was sentenced Monday to four life sentences, which are to run consecutively.

His attorney, Inga Parsons, said they are appealing and will continue to fight to show Tartaglione’s innocence.

In March, Tartaglione filed a motion through his attorney for a new trial, arguing that his legal counsel failed to challenge crucial evidence, as well as other missteps. Tartaglione said he was innocent.

The judge denied the motion for a new trial, records show.

Tartaglione is a former police officer and body builder who sold steroids to other body builders in the Hudson Valley area, prosecutors said, including to two people who assisted in the kidnapping and killings, Joseph Biggs and Gerard Benderoth.

Biggs, Tartaglione and Benderoth each shot one of the three men they’d forced to kneel, according to prosecutors.

“Under Tartaglione’s direction, Urbano, Miguel, and Hector were forced out of the car and onto their knees at gunpoint. Then one by one, each was executed,” prosecutors wrote in the sentencing letter. “The terror the last victim to die must have felt borders on the incomprehensible.”

As the four victims remained missing, their families reported their disappearance to police, which eventually led to the FBI task force’s finding their bodies.

Benderoth has died. Biggs pleaded guilty and in April was sentenced to more than 16 years in prison.

Two other men, Jason Sullivan and Marcos Cruz, were also involved and pleaded guilty. Sullivan was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison, and Cruz was sentenced in November to time already served

Anya Johnston would be convicted and sentenced to twenty years to life in prison

Anya Johnson Case

A Manhattan woman who fantasized about murdering someone — and then killed her 70-year-old neighbor — in a 2018 bloodbath has been sentenced to 20 years to life in state prison, prosecutors announced Thursday.

Anya Johnston, 29, was convicted in March of murder in the second degree in the Oct. 21, 2018 death of Susan Trott, whose neck was found cut after police followed a trail of blood from her Upper West Side living room to her bedroom. The two lived in the same apartment building, Johnston a floor above her victim.

On that October day, prosecutors say Johnston, who had mental health issues, ran some errands in the afternoon, including closing her bank account.

Later that day, she returned home and went to Trott’s apartment, carrying a backpack that contained two knives and latex gloves, according to trial testimony. While inside, she took out one of the knives and stabbed Trott in her lower back. She also stabbed her in the neck, killing her. Johnston then went back to her apartment and hid her backpack in a nearby stairwell before leaving the building, prosecutors said.

Cops found Trott after her business partner called 911, saying she hadn’t been seen in days. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said at the time.

The next day, officers executing a search warrant at Johnston’s home recovered clothing and sneakers she had been wearing during the killing. DNA testing showed the clothes were stained with Trott’s blood.

Johnston was arrested a week after her death.

Anya Johnson News

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., today announced the sentencing of ANYA JOHNSTON, 29, to 20 years-to-life in state prison for fatally stabbing her 70-year-old neighbor, Susan Trott, in Trott’s Upper West Side apartment in October of 2018. JOHNSTON was sentenced on May 1, 2024. On March 4, 2024, a New York Supreme Court jury found JOHNSTON guilty of one count of Murder in the Second Degree.

“Anya Johnston callously took the life of her neighbor Susan Trott, a lifelong New Yorker with a kind-hearted, generous spirit,” said District Attorney Bragg. “To Ms. Trott’s family and loved ones, Johnston robbed them of a friend, mentor and business partner. Since her loss, they have experienced overwhelming emotional pain, and I hope today’s sentence can offer them a sense of justice knowing Johnston has been held accountable.”

As proven at trial, JOHNSTON and Ms. Trott lived in the same apartment building near West 95th Street and West End Avenue and were acquainted as neighbors. JOHNSTON, who had mental health issues, fantasized about committing a murder.

On October 17, 2018, JOHNSTON ran some errands in the afternoon, including closing her bank account. Later that day, she returned home and went to Ms. Trott’s apartment, carrying a backpack, which contained two knives and latex gloves.

While inside Ms. Trott’s apartment, JOHNSTON took out an M48 Cyclone knife from her backpack, and stabbed Ms. Trott in her lower back. JOHNSTON also stabbed her in the neck, killing her. JOHNSTON left the apartment, returned home and hid her backpack in a nearby stairwell before exiting the building.

For several days following the incident, Ms. Trott’s business partner was unable to reach her and eventually asked the police to do a wellness check on her. On October 21, 2018, at approximately 4:20 a.m., as the police performed the wellness check, they discovered Ms. Trott’s body.

The next day, pursuant to a court-authorized search warrant, officers recovered several items from JOHNSTON’s apartment, including the clothing and sneakers she was wearing during the incident. DNA testing showed that the clothes were stained with Ms. Trott’s blood.

JOHNSTON was arrested on October 31, 2018.
