According to court documents West believed that Deanna Klaus had something to do with the death of a friend, he was wrong. West would attack Deanna Klaus who would be beaten, strangled and stabbed

A convicted killer blamed a life of “sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll” for a killing that sent him to the death chamber.
Robert West, 35, a twice-convicted thief who had been in and out of jail since he was 15, was executed by injection Tuesday evening for the 1982 murder of Deanna Klaus, 22, of Houston.It was the 25th execution this year in Texas, extending a record for the nation’s most active capital punishment state.
“I’ve never denied any involvement in the murder,” West said before he was executed. “My whole philosophy growing up was sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll.”
