Kali Collins Case
The Aurora Police Department’s Major Crime Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the Centre Pointe neighborhood.
Aurora patrol officers initially responded to a report of an SUV that crashed into the 7-Eleven store near 15550 East Mississippi Avenue at 1:08 a.m. Saturday morning. The caller also told dispatchers there was possibly someone suffering from a gunshot wound.
Officers responded and found an adult male on the ground outside of a black Chevrolet Aspen. He was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
The man’s name will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
There is no suspect information. The investigation is active and ongoing.

Kali Collins, 21, of Denver, was arrested Friday on one charge of first-degree murder following an extensive investigation by the Aurora Police Department’s Major Crime Homicide Unit. The charge stems from the early morning hours of Saturday, May 13 when officers responded to a report of a crash at 7-Eleven, 15550 E. Mississippi Ave., and discovered a man who had been fatally shot.

A woman was arrested Friday in connection with a deadly shooting earlier this month in the Centre Pointe neighborhood in Aurora.
It happened around 1:10 a.m. on May 13 in a parking lot near a 7-Eleven store located at 15550 East Mississippi Avenue, according to the Aurora Police Department.
Police said officers initially responded to a report of an SUV that crashed into the convenience store.
When officers arrived, they found the man on the ground outside the SUV. He was later pronounced dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
In a tweet, the department said the shooting occurred in a parking lot at or near the location the victim was found.
Kali Collins, 21, was arrested Friday for first-degree murder in connection with the shooting.
