Taton Dorfman Sentencing
Taton Dorfman has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for the second-degree murder of his girlfriend, Hannah Rogers. He was sentenced to time served for the death of a dog found next to Hannah.
Dorfman was arrested in July 2024 in connection with the deaths of Rogers and her dog, who were found on West Mosquito Drive in Marana, near Interstate 10 and Linda Vista. During the court proceedings, some of Rogers’ family members expressed that the sentence brings them closure. They plan to remember and honor Hannah’s memory.
Rachelle Fernandez Rogers, Hannah’s sister-in-law, addressed Dorfman directly in court.
“I just realized in my heart of hearts if I didn’t forgive him—if I didn’t get to that level—it would just eat me alive from the inside out. And I don’t want to live that way, and I don’t think Hannah would want us to live that way,” Fernandez Rogers said.
The Dorfman family chose not to speak on camera but expressed their love for Taton. Dorfman’s lawyers described the incident to the judge as “a tragic accident.”
